The Cotswolds represent an area that is forever England, remaining seemingly unchanged with the passing of time. Rolling landscapes, dry stone walls, perpendicular churches and sparkling clear streams fuse with tiny villages and hamlets with their charming limestone houses, tea shops and inns.

At Burford, we park off the magnificent High Street, which slopes down to the River Windrush holding every variety of Cotswold stone. There will be time to visit the small tea houses before heading south onto Bibury.

Bibury was described as the 'The most beautiful village in England' by William Morris. Bibury is a place many people return to time and time again, thanks to its serene riverside setting, charming old stone cottages and historic mills.

After a brief stroll, we head to the Swan Hotel, a charming 17th-century former coaching inn. Here, you can savor a delightful two-course lunch right in the heart of Bibury, with lovely views of the River Coln. The Swan Hotel offers a variety of traditional dishes, ales, and fine wines.

On rare occasions an alternative may be used if the Swan Hotel is not available.

In the afternoon you cna enjoy a visit to Stow-on-the-Wold, a beautiful and impressive market town in the Cotswolds. You will see the attractive Market Square, a bygone of the town's former importance for its annual wool fairs.

You will also come across the ancient cross, and the town stocks, shaded between an old elm tree. Stow is an important shopping centre and has many fine antique shops, art galleries, and gifts shops.

You leave Stow-on-the-Wold for the trip back to London late afternoon, a journey of over two hours. The estimated time of arrival back in London is around 6.30pm.

Joining the tour

Your tour will begin at Victoria Coach Station, one of the major transport hubs in central London and very close to Victoria Underground and Railway Station. Tour companies are no longer allowed to perform pick-ups at hotels for public day tours.

Victoria Coach Station is like a small airport with airport style departure screens where your tour will be displayed together with a gate number.

The driver or guide will check you in on boarding the coach.

Usually all that is required is the lead passengers name and you will be checked off the passenger list, but do bring along your tour confirmation voucher.

The tour ends at Victoria Railway and Underground Station. There are no advance seat reservations on-board, you select your seat on boarding from those available.

The touring coach

A professional guide is aboard the luxury air-conditioned touring bus the entire day and will provide commentary and guiding throughout as well as looking after entrance into the various attractions.

Commentary is in English only.

All vehicles are equipped with on-board free Wi-Fi and most will have toilet facilities. However these faculties cannot be guaranteed.
