The Cotswolds represent an area that is forever England, remaining seemingly unchanged with the passing of time. Rolling landscapes, dry stone walls, perpendicular churches and sparkling clear streams fuse with tiny villages and hamlets with their charming limestone houses, tea shops and inns.
At Burford, we park off the magnificent High Street, which slopes down to the River Windrush holding every variety of Cotswold stone. There will be time to visit the small tea houses before heading south onto Bibury.
Bibury was described as the 'The most beautiful village in England' by William Morris. Bibury is a place many people return to time and time again, thanks to its serene riverside setting, charming old stone cottages and historic mills.
After a brief stroll, we head to the Swan Hotel, a charming 17th-century former coaching inn. Here, you can savor a delightful two-course lunch right in the heart of Bibury, with lovely views of the River Coln. The Swan Hotel offers a variety of traditional dishes, ales, and fine wines.
On rare occasions an alternative may be used if the Swan Hotel is not available.

You will also come across the ancient cross, and the town stocks, shaded between an old elm tree. Stow is an important shopping centre and has many fine antique shops, art galleries, and gifts shops.
You leave Stow-on-the-Wold for the trip back to London late afternoon, a journey of over two hours. The estimated time of arrival back in London is around 6.30pm.
