The Holiday Inn Terminal 5 is as its name implies quite close to Terminal 5, but not within walking distance of Terminal 5, a passenger terminal dominated by British Airways and far from the other passenger terminals.

The only Heathrow hotel you can walk to from Terminal 5 is the Sofitel Heathrow, normally the most expensive hotel at Heathrow.

There are four Holiday Inn Heathrow Hotels, the others are Holiday Inn Ariel, Holiday Inn M4/J4 and Holiday Inn Bath Road hotel opening in 2019. The Holiday inn Terminal 5 is relatively small compared to many of Heathrow's hotels.

There is also Holiday Inn Express Terminal 5 but that is quite a long way from Terminal 5 itself, despite its name.

The Holiday Inn Heathrow Terminal 5 has a regular hotel shuttle bus to Terminals 4 and 5, but not to Terminals 2 and 3.

 

So if you are using Terminals 2 or 3 the Holiday Inn Ariel and Holiday Inn M4/J4 are perhaps better choices as these have direct terminal shuttles to both of these terminals.

You can use the Heathrow Express train free of charge that runs every 15 minutes between Terminal 5 and Terminals 2 and 3.

The Holiday Inn Terminal 5 is located in the historic village of Colnbrook and Poyle, 10 minutes' drive from Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 on the other side of the M25 motorway (the orbital motorway around London) which it has quick access to.

Heathrow Hoppa - Hotel Shuttle

There are 4 passenger terminals at Heathrow numbered 2, 3, 4 and 5. The hotels at Heathrow are not allowed to run their own airport shuttle vehicles between the airport and the hotels.

Hoppa Buses - are regulated by the airport authority and run on fixed routes, each serving 2 or 3 Heathrow airport hotels. Hotels have one bus for Terminals 2 & 3, another for Terminals 4 & 5.

The Hoppa Bus service from the Holiday Inn Terminal 5 Heathrow only serves Terminals 4 and 5. From Terminal 5 you can take the Heathrow Express train free of charge to Heathrow Central between Terminals 2 and 3.
