Sofitel Hotel Heathrow Terminal 5 - the only hotel that you can walk to from Terminal 5 |
The Sofitel Heathrow opened in July 2008 shortly after the opening of Terminal 5 and is still the only hotel that you can walk to from Terminal 5. There are several Heathrow hotels with Terminal 5 in their name, and some are a mile or two from the terminal, but all require a transfer bus.
The Sofitel Heathrow is located adjacent to the passenger terminal and you walk directly into the hotel reception by a covered walkway between the two buildings.
There are four passenger terminals, numbered 2, 3, 4 and 5 and Terminal 5 is isolated on its own, far from the other passenger terminals on the west side of the airport.
The Sofitel at Terminal 5 is one of the finest and most expensive hotels at Heathrow featuring the best in fine dining, theatre style cooking, a lobby bar, tea salon and a cocktail bar, as well as a state of the art Health Spa and Gym and extensive undercover car parking.
Although there is little in the vicinity other than the passenger terminal, you can be in London very quickly using the Heathrow Express rail service taking you to central London in just 21 minutes. The London Underground offers a cheaper and slower alternative.
The Heathrow Express train runs every 15 minutes from Terminal 5 to the central area where Terminals 2 and 3 are located then travelling non-stop into London's Paddington Station.
