Both Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza hotel brands are owned by Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts (IHG) that have many hotel brands in the centre of London. Holiday Inn is the cheapest of the full service brands in the IHG stable and can compete against other budget full service hotels like Novotel and Thistle Hotels in central London.
Crowne Plaza is more upscale than Holiday Inn and perhaps competing directly more with chains like Park Plaza, Hilton and Marriott.

The Holiday Inn hotels in central London tend to be more upmarket than many Holiday inn hotels in regional cities and some overseas countries, so you may have a misconceived conception of what to expect with Holiday Inn in London and be pleasantly surprised.
As with nearly all the other hotel brands in London, both Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza have very volatile room rates. Rates can double from one night to the next. Like all hotels with significant business custom, room rates are often cheaper at the weekend with Friday and Sundays often the cheapest days of the week.
Holiday Inn properties in central London have some very good locations. Holiday Inn Bloomsbury, Holiday Inn Oxford Circus and Holiday Inn Mayfair hotels have locations in particular that are outstanding. The Holiday Inn Kensington Forum is very good and being a little further out from the centre, normally cheaper. It is especially convenient if you are flying into Heathrow Airport. The Crowne Plaza locations are more attuned to business and from a leisure travellers perspective could be seen as less appealing than Holiday Inn.

Holiday Inn Kensington High Street

Holiday Inn Camden Lock
