Hotels near the Tower of London and Liverpool Street Station are all to be found in the City of London, the financial district of London. For this reason most hotels in this area offer rooms for business people, not generally leisure travellers. However if you are a weekend visitor you can turn this to your benefit by taking advantage of some hotels deals on luxury accommodation at this time.
Most hotels in the City of London are a mix of large 4-star, mostly global chain hotels. In recent years some budget chain hotels have also appeared, such as Premier Inn, Travelodge and ibis.
Liverpool Street , City of London and the Tower of London are located to the east of central London and is home to the commercial and financial district of London. This is an area that is thriving during the week but much quieter at weekends. It is by no means a dead area to visit though as it has a vast array of attractions and places of interest in its own right.
Most visitors will explore the city of London area during the day but head back into central London for the evening to enjoy the theatres and entertainment.

The area around the Tower of London and Tower Bridge is a fascinating place to stay. Along the river, areas don't close down as much as the areas inland towards Bank and Liverpool Street. As well as Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, there is Leadenhall Market, the Monument and HMS Belfast to explore among others.
There are also some good bars, pubs and restaurants and visitors might appreciate an environment where local workers are in evidence, in contrast to some hotel areas where everyone seems to be a tourist. From Tower Pier in front of Tower Bridge, regularly scheduled boats go either way down the River Thames to Westminster and Greenwich.
The City area offers plenty of good hotels, lots see and do, and many restaurants and pubs in an area not overrun by tourists.
Bear in mind that if you are flying into Heathrow, then the area is the other side of London from London's main airport and has no direct links, so your transfer will take longer.
Hotel prices in the City area are fairly constant with business travellers booking rooms year round. The main fluctuations are from weekday to weekend.
We recommend considering the Kings Cross & St Pancras area to benefit from slightly cheaper room rates and good transfer links or County Hall & Waterloo also by the river but slightly closer to central London.
City is a business district, and as such the price of hotel rooms during the working week is expensive. If you are a budget traveller, you will find some extremely competitive room rates at weekends, whiile Mon-Fri accommodation will be expensive.
