There are a wide range of styles of B&B in London and the prices of these varies just as much. The cheapest bed & breakfast in London is around £75 for a double/twin room including breakfast.
On this page we have aimed to sleect hotels that offer at least some dates in summer time either under or around the £100 mark, although there will be times when prices are higher (see below).
Seasonality
It is worth also noting that prices are extremely seasonal, even within the same Bed & Breakfast. For example, prices can range from under £100 to well over £200 in the same month, at the same property. So when you travel matters as much as where you choose to stay.
Where you stay
Clearly, prices will be variable also according to where you stay. There are a number of cheap hotels/bed and breakfasts in the Bloomsbury/Paddington area, and areas such as Earl's Court, Kensington, and also around King's Cross, but prices will vary. Once you get into the West End you are really looking at a different type of hotel entirely.
Small cheap hotels
It is worth remembering that finding a cheap hotel doesn't always mean it will be the best value. Most bed and breakfast hotels in central London are small cheap hotels. Very few are family run establishments renting out a handful of rooms with the personal attention commonly found outside London.
What to expect from cheap B&Bs in London?
The cheapest bed and breakfast hotels in London will have shared bathrooms but most places will offer en-suite at a further supplement. There will probably be no air-conditioning or lifts. If you are less mobile, keep in mind a lot of B&Bs are typically 4- or 5-storey Victorian terraced houses with basements.
Breakfast is normally part of the room rate but is very different between B&Bs. The breakfast can be a basic continental breakfast with cereals, sliced bread, juice, yogurt and tea/coffee while others will serve up a full English cooked breakfast.
