Our city map above shows the locations of the main Southampton railway station and coach station. These are conveniently located for shops and hotels. The cruise terminals are a short drive away.
The main railway station is called Central Station and serves trains to/from London along with other major cities. The coach station is used exclusively by National Express. Taxis operate close to these, providing onward journeys to the terminals for cruise customers.

London is around 80 miles from Southampton and is a 2 hour journey. There are a range of transport options linking the cities.
Both private and public transport is available between Southampton and London. If speed and convenience are your priorities then private transfers are the best option. These are also surprisingly good value if there is a group of you. They provide a door to door pick up service from airport terminals and hotel receptions and can be tailored to include sightseeing along the way.
Public trains and coaches are also available but these journeys are slower and you must work to their timetables. You also need to get to/from the stations which may be some distance and so introduces extra cost and time to your journey.
