Harwich is around 90 miles (145km) from London and by road about 115 miles (185km) from Heathrow Airport and 105 miles (169km) from Gatwick, budget for a 2.5 hour journey.
From both Gatwick and Heathrow Airports the route goes around London's orbital motorway which during commuter hours has significant road congestion. Similarly the approaches to Central London are very congested if you come into London at peak hours.
After disembarking from your cruise ship you will hit London at the end of the rush hour on work days.
Prices start as little as £118 per person from Harwich to Central London, based on two sharing. This price can drop to as little as £33 per person if 8 people share a vehicle (2024 prices).
For transfer prices to the airports this will vary upon which one you go to. Heathrow is the other side of London from Harwich, prices are therefore a little more than to Gatwick Airport.
Private transfer overview
The routes between Harwich and Gatwick and Heathrow Airports do not go through London itself. If you have time there is no reason why you cannot stopover in London, just ask and we can quote for a stopover. Heathrow Airport is only 15 minutes from Windsor Castle so if you have a late afternoon or evening flight out you can stopover at Windsor.
At airports and cruise terminals the price includes meet and greet, the classic reception formula of our drivers being there with your name on a board as you exit customs/luggage. At hotels we will come to the reception area to find you at the time you have stipulated at the time of reservation.

Cancellation - Cancellation requests must be received in writing, by email or telephone. You will be provided with all contact details and 24/7 support at time of booking. Cancellations must be informed of a minimum of 24-hrs prior to the time of booking by telephone. Cancellations informed 24-hrs prior to the time of booking will incur a £10.00 cancellation charge. Cancellation informed 3-24-hrs prior to the time of booking will incur 50% of quoted price for provision of service cancellation charge. Cancellations not informed up to 3-hrs prior to the time of booking will incur 100% of quoted price for provision of service cancellation charge.

Don't worry if your flight is late, waiting times - At airports incoming flights are monitored and the driver will adjust his/her arrival time to the actual flight landing time. The driver will be waiting outside the exit to the customs hall with your name around 30 minutes after actual landing - not scheduled time. (If you have no luggage an earlier arrival time can be agreed). You can adjust the free waiting time of your driver which starts when the driver arrives by asking the driver to arrive later. You will be subject to additional charges if the driver has to wait over the free 30 minutes waiting time.

Group transfers for more than 8 passengers
If you have a large group then that is not a problem either. We offer the full range of vehicles from 12 seat mini-buses to the largest coaches with 50-72 seat coaches but we also have access to vehicles half that size.
For the mini-buses up to 16 passengers we have customised vehicles with much larger luggage capacities. With large groups on cruises the luggage capacity issue is a factor to be considered. UK coaches are built to European traveller requirements, where one large case is perfectly adequate. A typical 50 seat coach will be able to accommodate around 60 large cases in the luggage hold.
For a group travelling with North American flight allowances a 50 seat coach will typically only be able to accommodate the luggage of 35 such passengers maximum.
With large groups just as small groups multi- drop and pick-ups from hotels is routine and if you require sightseeing we can arrange a guide whether it be an orientation tour of London or a niche interest of the group.

Overview - The coaches and minibus vehicles are very highly regulated. Access to airport terminals is very restricted, only the smallest mini-buses can access the car parks by the terminals at most airports and in London coaches may have restrictions beyond whether they can physically access some London streets which can be very narrow. Drivers are monitored by electronic tachographs and rest breaks are enforced. In summary every quotation is unique where the vehicle size, location of departure and arrival, journey length and payment may vary from one enquiry to another. However, there are some broad principles that apply to all quotations

Cancellation - You can cancel without penalty up to 2 days prior to travel for the mini-buses, The large coaches may have more restrictive conditions on cancellation which are made clear at time of quotation.

Airport arrivals - At many of London's airports, and especially for the larger coaches the coach will park is a designated coach bay by the terminal, not in the terminal car parks. The driver is not allowed to leave the vehicle and perform meet n greet. In these occasions the group will have to make their own way to the coach. The airport terminal staff regulate this facility and will provide support if needed and will know exactly where your vehicle is located.
