Windsor and Bath Day Tour – What to Expect
Every tour is different. There are a multitude of things to see and experience on each of the tours out of London we offer.
Read below to discover the key destinations and features of your tour.
Windsor Castle

Most people on on this Windsor and Bath Tour will wish to enter Windsor Castle. However if you do not wish to enter the Castle there is still plenty to see in Windsor – see our Windsor pages for more details.
Windsor Castle was the favourite residence of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the largest continuously occupied castle in the world. You will get to see the lavish State Apartments and the stunning St George’s Chapel, made even more famous by the recent Royal weddings. You’ll also see beautiful architecture and artworks from famous artists such as Rubens, Van Dyck and Holbein.
At St George’s Chapel you can visit the final resting places of English monarchs, Henry VIII, and his third wife Jane Seymour as well as Charles I, and see the impressive Gothic architecture. More recently St George’s Chapel hosted the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Note the chapel is closed to the public on Sundays.
From the Royal Collection in the State Apartments, you will also find works of art by Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto. The Royal Family still use the State Apartments for hosting events for those organisations of which they are patrons. From the battlements you will see spectacular views across the Thames Valley.
Bath City

Bath is a beautiful Georgian city with delightful crescents, terraces and architecture. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For the visitor the main attractions date from when Bath was an important city in England and was part of the Roman Empire. The second period of interest is much later, when Bath was a fashionable spa town.
This tour includes the optional addition of entrance into the Roman Baths which date back to 60AD. You can walk around the hot springs and even take a sip of Bath’s waters in the Pump Room.
If you choose not to visit the Roman Baths then you are free to visit Bath at your leisure. The gorgeous 15th century Bath Abbey, the stunning Georgian architecture, the romantic Pulteney Bridge, modelled on Florence’s Ponte Vecchio, are all sights that will linger on in the memory.
One of the benefits of a Bath visit is that all the attractions are very close together and much of the city centre is pedestrianised so it is easy and quick to get around on foot.
Stonehenge
A visit to the renowned Stonehenge includes tickets that grant access to the World Heritage Site, where you can explore the area’s fascinating history at the visitor center. There is also an onsite café that serves a variety of hot and cold snacks, along with a gift shop and restrooms.
