Typical
Customer Reviews
Below are some fairly typical reviews from customers that have stayed
at the Best Western Hotels in Paddington. They are independent viewpoints
and not necessarily the view of this web site.
The Mornington is in a great position by Lancaster Gate and only about
50m to Hyde Park. The Delmere tends to get the best customer feedback,
the Paddington Court the most mixed.
Best Western Paddington Court Hotel
"This hotel is in a great spot near Paddington station and while
not spectacular, I've stayed in worse. Stayed with my small daughter
- at first we were given a room right next to the lift (419 - avoid
if you can) which was unbearably noisy and very small - I asked at
the desk if we could change and the desk clerk was very accommodating
(they all had the jaded look like this had happened 100 times). Bathroom
was updated but small - anyone other than average size would very
seriously be unable to fit in the shower. Room, including blankets,
sheets and towels, could do with an overhaul. Overall, don't think
I'd go back but considering the price we paid I'm not complaining."
Best Western Delmere Hotel
" We were only going to be in London 2 nights and had an early
departure out of Heathrow so we wanted to be near Paddington Station
to get the express train. This hotel is very convenient to Paddington
Station and Metro stop. Our room was very small but included tv, fan,
hairdryer, coffee/tea service. Bathroom, though small, was very clean
with good storage shelves. Our room was on the back side and was very
quiet even though we slept with the window open. Free internet was
great. Breakfast was not included in our rate. There is a nice lounge/sitting
area if you feel you need more space for reading/relaxing. We found
a nice modern Italian restaurant a few blocks away."
Best Western Mornington Hotel
"The Mornington gave us exactly what we were looking for. Reasonable
rates, convenient location and most of all - I sent a message to the
hotel asking for a smoking room but, also a room next to my daughter
- who of course needs non-smoking. Much to my surprise, that is what
we got and it made me very happy. The room had a small desk where
I could hook up to free wireless network and relax after my daughter
went to bed, the bathroom was clean and equipped with the necesssary
basics. The bed was fully adequate and, the reception was beautiful
in classic British library / club style. My daughter found a spider
in her bed, which just proves the earth is a live planet. Probably
got in through the open window.
We
chose the rate without breakfast; I find it much nicer to find a local
street cafe in the mornings, looking at the hustle and bustle. Hotel
breakfasts are always over-priced, wherever in the world you are.
I
have only one small observation: While the evening reception staff
was smiling and welcoming, the receptionist who received us on arrival
Tuesday afternoon was business-like and expressionless. Small thing,
but a welcoming smile is so effortless and makes a difference!."
